En este episodio de La Propia Network conversamos con Natalia Iguiñiz, artista visual, feminista y docente universitaria en Perú, sobre cómo habitar la intersección entre arte, política y vida cotidiana.
Natalia nos comparte reflexiones sobre las tensiones entre la academia y la calle, la precariedad laboral en el ámbito cultural, y el papel del arte en contextos de crisis política y social. Hablamos también sobre cómo el feminismo, lejos de ser un discurso abstracto, se encarna en prácticas comunitarias, redes de cuidado y gestos artísticos que cuestionan lo establecido.
A través de su experiencia, exploramos lo difícil —y necesario— que es "caerse del cuadro" para romper con moldes heredados y construir nuevas formas de hacer arte y comunidad.
In this episode of La Propia Network, we talk with Natalia Iguiñiz, a visual artist, feminist, and university professor from Peru, about living at the intersection of art, politics, and everyday life.
Natalia shares reflections on the tensions between academia and grassroots activism, the precarious labor conditions in the cultural field, and the role of art in moments of political and social crisis. We also discuss how feminism, far from being an abstract theory, comes alive through community practices, networks of care, and artistic gestures that challenge the status quo.
Through her experience, we explore how necessary —and challenging— it is to "fall out of the frame" in order to break inherited molds and create new ways of making art and building community.
